However, the police gunned down the attacker on Saturday night and all the people have been rescued. Afia Siddiqui’s case has again come into the limelight due to this incident. Afia Siddiqui was found guilty of attempting to assassinate US military officers while in Afghan custody. Afia was sentenced to 86 years in prison after being convicted in Manhattan in 2010. Afia’s connection was linked to the terrorist organization Al Qaeda.
