A purported picture of the massacre, which took place in Mo So village on the outskirts of Hapruso town in Myanmar’s Kaya state, has gone viral on social media, sparking outrage against the army that seized power in February.

More than 30 burnt bodies were seen in 3 vehicles

In Mo So village, these refugees were taking shelter to avoid army attack. Social media accounts could not be independently verified but viral photos showed more than 30 burnt bodies in 3 vehicles. A villager who claimed to be on the scene said that Mo So had fled on Friday to avoid clashes between armed opposition forces and Myanmar’s military near Koi Nagan village. The villager told that the army personnel arrested him and killed him after some time. He was arrested when he was on his way to refugee camps.

A few days ago, there was also a news that said that government troops in the north-west part of Myanmar raided a village in retaliation for an attack on an army convoy, caught some people, tied their hands and then made them burnt alive. This information was given by eyewitnesses and some other news. Pictures and videos of burnt bodies in Done Taw village of Sagaing area went viral on social media. It is said that those photographs were taken soon after the villagers were murdered and set ablaze.
