A major accident was averted on 9 January at the Dubai International Airport. It is being told that two planes going to India were about to collide on the runway. Now investigation has been started in this matter. According to the information, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has asked the Civil Aviation Authority of UAE to share its investigation report.

It is being told that the flight EK-524 from Dubai to Hyderabad was gathering speed for take-off on the runway, when the pilot saw another flight coming in the same direction. In such a situation, the take-off was immediately directed by ATC to abort the take-off. After which the flight reduced its speed and the accident was avoided.

Talking about the incident, a person told ANI that flight number EK-524 from Dubai to Hyderabad was accelerating for take-off from runway 30R, at the same time the pilot accelerated an aircraft in the same direction. Saw it coming at speed.

In such a situation, the take-off was immediately directed to be rejected by ATC, he said. The aircraft then slowed down and cleared the runway safely via taxibay N4, which had crossed the runway. Another Emirates flight EK-568 from Dubai to Bangalore which was preparing for departure was to take-off from the same runway 30R.

Confirming the person’s statement, Emirates Airline has informed that an internal investigation has also been started in the matter.
