Digital Desk, Kabul. Earlier this week, 11 people have died and 23 others have been injured due to heavy snowfall and rain across Afghanistan. This information has come out from the reports of the local media.

According to the Khama Press report, citing officials of the Taliban-led Afghan government, news agency Bakhtar said that 90 percent of the country’s area had suffered financial losses due to snowfall or rain. Casualties have been reported from Helmand, Nimroz, Farah, Nangarhar, Kandahar, Jajjan, Takhar and Kabul.

Disaster Management Ministry officials said that they have rescued several people stranded due to the floods. Recent heavy snowfall and rain have also closed several highways and disrupted flights to Kabul International Airport.
