Noida: On Wednesday in Gautam Budh Nagar district COVID-19 510 new cases were reported, after which it has become the first district of Uttar Pradesh where the number of patients under treatment has crossed one thousand. With this, the restrictions will be tightened here from Thursday as per the rules set by the state government. At the same time, the first case of infection with the new variant of corona virus Omicron has been confirmed in the district, although this patient has now recovered. The investigation report of the people who came in contact with it has also come negative. Officials gave this information.

Officials said that with the new cases, the number of patients under treatment in the district has increased to 1,110. District Magistrate NLY Suhas said, “Recently, cases of infection with corona virus have increased. Today the number of patients under treatment in Gautam Budh Nagar district has crossed one thousand. The restrictions set by the Uttar Pradesh government (if there are more than one thousand active cases) will come into force here from Thursday. . Suhas told that a campaign will be launched to ensure ‘no mask, no shopping’ rule.

According to the data shared by the Health Department, 64,651 cases of Kovid-19 have been reported in the district so far, out of which 468 people have lost their lives. On Tuesday, the first case of Omicron was confirmed by the Health Department in the district, but the patient is now infection free and the test report of the people who came in contact with him has also come negative.

According to Chief Medical Officer Dr. Sunil Kumar Sharma, the patient found infected with Omicron Haryana Works in a company in Noida and lives in a society in Sector 137, Noida. He told that on December 21, the patient was confirmed to be infected and on December 28 his report came negative. He said the patient’s sample was sent for genetic sequencing, which confirmed that he was infected with Omicron. He said that so far 11,500 people have returned from foreign travel in the district, out of which 2800 people have come from high-risk countries.

Dr. Sharma said that samples of 800 people from abroad have been sent for testing, out of which 15 have been found infected so far. District Magistrate Suhas said that at present no patients are admitted in ICU and 400 patients have been kept in isolation in Kovid Hospital, some of whom are foreign returnees.
