One of the best cricket stadiums in the world surrounded by natural beauty is in Dharamsala, Himachal Pradesh. But now a football stadium has also been included in this list, which is located in Leh, Union Territory of Ladakh. This beautiful stadium built in the middle of the hills is in Spituk of Leh. Sports Minister Anurag Thakur on Saturday shared an aerial view of this beautiful football stadium built in Spituk, Leh. The football stadium is built 11000 feet above sea level and is a part of Khelo India Sports Infrastructure.
Thakur shared the picture of the stadium on Twitter. Thakur in his tweet also mentioned how the sports infrastructure in India is getting better and reaching greater heights. The breathtaking view of the stadium has taken the fans by surprise. The government has taken this initiative to develop various sports facilities for the people under the Khelo India program, under which this stadium has been built in this remote area.
This stadium is almost completely ready. The stadium is in its advanced stage and will soon be opened for players and fans. Former Union Sports Minister Kiren Rijuju had in September last year laid the foundation stone for various sports facilities including synthetic track and astroturf for football in the state. The stadium is no less than a dream for the people of Spituk and children who aspire to become professional football players. Ladakh will surely add another feather to their dreams once the stadium opens for the local public and starts hosting football matches amidst a beautiful landscape.
