The cases of COVID-19 are increasing rapidly in India (Coronavirus India Report). The total number of infected has exceeded three crore 68 lakhs. In many countries of the world as well as in India, cases of infection with the new variant Omicron of Kovid-19 are also increasing. Vaccination campaign against Corona is going on in India. According to the data released by the Ministry of Health on Saturday, the number of corona infected in the country has increased to 3,68,50,962. In the 24 hours ended Saturday (8 am Friday to 8 am Saturday), 2,68833 new cases of corona have been reported. In this one day 1.22,684 patients have been cured. During this, 402 corona infected have died. So far more than three crore 49 lakh patients have been cured. So far more than 4.85 lakh people have lost their lives due to Corona. The current number of corona cases is more than 14 lakh 17 thousand. In Punjab, 22 more people died due to corona virus infection, while 6,883 new cases of infection have been reported. The number of patients under treatment in the state has gone up to 37,546. The infection rate in the state is 19.46 percent.
81 police personnel got corona infected in mumbai
According to ANI, 81 police personnel in Mumbai have been infected with Kovid-19 in the last 24 hours. The police gave this information on Saturday. With this, the number of infected police personnel in the city increased to 1,312. Mumbai Police said that a total of 126 personnel have died due to the infection so far. Apart from this, 31 police personnel were found corona infected in Pune city on Saturday. With this, the number of infected police personnel in the city increased to 465.
The Jharkhand government on Saturday decided to extend the current COVID-19 related restrictions in the state till January 31, news agency ANI said. Under the existing restrictions, which are in force from January 3, all educational institutions will remain closed but official functions will be allowed with 50 per cent capacity. All stadiums, parks, gyms, swimming pools, tourist places will remain closed. A maximum of 100 people are allowed in gatherings for weddings and funerals.
Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said on Saturday that people buying COVID-19 self-testing kits will have to give their Aadhaar cards to the chemist to maintain records. According to ANI, Pednekar said that if a person turns out to be Kovid positive, then its information should be given to the authorities and it should also be updated online. The Mayor of Mumbai said, “We have decided that every person who buys the self-test kit will have to provide his Aadhaar card to the chemist to maintain the record.”
