Used by right-wing extremists to ‘auction’ Muslim women ‘Bulli Bai’ APP Main accused Neeraj Bishnoi did not show any remorse for his ‘action’ during the police interrogation. Sources gave this information on Friday. Instead, he claimed that he did what he thought was right, sources told NDTV. 21-year-old Bishnoi, a B. Tech second year student from an institute in Bhopal, was arrested by the Delhi Police from Jorhat district of Assam on Thursday. Officials told NDTV that they have recovered the device used to build the APP which was ‘hosted’ on Microsoft’s sharing software GitHub. Neeraj was produced in the court on the same day where he was sent to seven days police custody.

Sources said that Bishnoi, a resident of Assam, was ‘tracked’ through digital surveillance of his Twitter handle – @bullibai_ – which has now been suspended. The app has now been deprecated, initially only blocked by GitHub. According to sources, it has also been revealed in the interrogation that this app was developed in November and it was made public on December 31. At the same time another Twitter handle @sage0x1 was created to spread the word. Bishnoi had also allegedly created the handle @giyu44 which he used to make fun of Mumbai Police. When he announced the three earlier arrests, he referred to it as the “slumbai police”. This handle, which remains active, has many abusive nature and pinned tweets.

The tweet read, “You have arrested the wrong person, slumbai police…I am the creator of #BulliBaiApp…the two people you arrested have nothing to do with it, they will be arrested soon.” Release soon. ‘ This tweet was posted at 10.42 am on Wednesday, a day after the arrest of 19-year-old Shweta Singh. Bishnoi is the fourth person to be arrested in connection with the ‘Bulli Bai’ app. Earlier, 21-year-old Mayank Rawal, Shweta Singh and Vishal Kumar Jha were arrested.
