Assembly Poll Dates 2022 Announced, UP-Uttarakhand, Punjab Including 5 States Assembly Election

The dates for the assembly elections in five states have been announced. Voting will be conducted in seven phases in UP. The Election Commission has made this announcement while announcing the dates for the assembly elections on Saturday. In UP, the first phase of polling will be held on February 10 and the last phase on March 7. The results of all the assembly elections will come on March 10. In UP, the second phase of polling will be held on February 14 and the third phase on February 20. The Election Commission has said that if anyone violates the rules related to election rallies or campaigning, then the District Magistrate or Returning Officer can decide. They can be stopped from rallying further.

There are total 403 assembly seats in UP. There are 117 assembly seats in Punjab, 70 in Uttarakhand, 60 in Manipur and 40 in Goa. Voting for seven states will first begin on February 10. Counting of votes will take place in all the states on March 10. Voting will be held in Uttar Pradesh on February 10, February 14, February 20, February 23, February 27, March 03 and March 07. Polling will be held simultaneously in Punjab, Goa and Uttarakhand on February 14. Manipur will vote in two phases, which will be held on February 27 and March 3.

The Chief Election Commissioner said that the facility of online nomination will be given to all the candidates. The tainted candidates will have to report their criminal record in newspapers and other media. Various political parties will also have to upload these records on their websites. They will also have to explain the reason for this.

There is also talk of providing postal ballot facility for elderly voters above 80 years of age. Along with this, wheel chairs and other arrangements will be made to take the elderly and disabled to the polling place. From sanitizer, thermal scanner to social distancing will also be fully followed inside the polling booth.
