Four people have died in this horrific accident and there are reports of injuries to many passengers. A compensation of Rs 5 lakh was announced to the next of kin of the deceased. According to reports, 12 coaches of the train derailed, in which four bogies suffered major damage. One of these coaches has also landed in the water, from which the stranded passengers are being rescued.

Please tell that this train was going from Patna in Bihar to Guwahati in Assam. After getting the information, top officials including the district administration reached the spot. Apart from this, ADRMs have also left for the spot. Railways issued emergency helpline number 8134054999. The Railways has ordered a high-level inquiry into the incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and inquired about this incident.

The rescue operation is intensifying. More than 30 ambulances have already left for the spot. NDRF team is also about to reach the accident site. According to the initial reports, about 1200 people were on this train. Of these, around 700 passengers had boarded the train from Rajasthan. Railways has run a rescue train to bring the passengers who are stranded at the accident site to their destination. Around 40 people have been rescued.

Railway Minister tweeted

Railway Minister tweeted that in an unfortunate accident, 12 coaches of Bikaner-Guwahati Express derailed near New Maynaguri (West Bengal) at 5 pm. He is personally monitoring the situation for quick rescue operations, he added. He further wrote in another tweet that I spoke to Prime Minister Narendra Modi about the incident and apprised him about the rescue operations.
