School-Colleges Closed: School-colleges closed in 15 states including Delhi, UP and Bihar, see full list here

School-Colleges Closed: Schools and colleges are being closed as a precaution in view of the safety of children amid increasing cases of corona. Here is a list of all the states where schools and other educational institutions have been closed.

School-Colleges Closed: There has been a jump in the pace of corona epidemic in the country. In a single day, more than 90 thousand cases of Kovid-19 have made the central government as well as the state government worried. This also includes the maximum number of 495 new cases in a single day of the Omicron variant. 15 state governments including Delhi, UP, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh have announced more restrictions to curb the rising cases of the Omicron variant. School-colleges and other educational institutions are being closed as a precaution in view of the safety of the children.

These states have closed schools and other educational institutions.

Delhi
The Delhi government announced the closure of schools, colleges and other educational institutions with immediate effect on December 28, 2021.

Haryana
Haryana state government has decided to close schools and colleges till January 12. Offline classes are going on for all classes with 50% capacity.

Tamil Nadu
The MK Stalin-led Tamil Nadu government has directed school authorities to suspend normal classes. Online classes will be allowed for classes 1 to 12.

Goa
Schools and colleges in Goa have been closed till 26 January. Class 11 and 12 students will have to go to school to get the vaccine against COVID-19.

Maharashtra
Offline classes for classes 1 to 9 and class 11 in Mumbai will remain canceled till January 31. However, students of classes 10 and 12 are excluded from this decision, which means they can go to school in person.

West Bengal
Schools and other educational institutions have been temporarily closed in West Bengal from January 3.

Karnataka
The Karnataka state government has asked all educational institutions to postpone all programs and gatherings till January 15.

A state in Eastern India
Schools in Patna have been ordered to remain closed for a week on January 2 due to severe cold and rise in cases of corona.

Orissa
The Orissa government withdrew its decision to reopen schools for students of classes 1 to 5 from January 3.

Rajasthan
Rajasthan government has ordered closure of classes 1-8 in Jaipur from January 3 to 9. It has also been made mandatory for students to take written permission from their parents before attending coaching institutes.

Uttar Pradesh
Schools have been closed in Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur and Greater Noida following a surge in Omicron cases and severe cold waves. Schools will remain closed for 15 days from December 31, 2021 to January 14, 2022.

Chattisgarh
The Chief Minister’s Office has ordered the closure of schools in all the districts of Chhattisgarh till further orders.

Punjab
In view of the fast pace of corona cases, all schools and colleges in the state have been asked to remain closed till January 15.

Jharkhand
All schools, colleges in the state will remain closed till January 15.

Telangana
Schools and colleges will remain closed from January 8 to January 16.
