Jharkhand: Central government increased the strength of Jharkhand IAS cadre, the authorized number increased from 215 to 224

Center increases strength of Jharkhand’s IAS cadre: The central government has increased the number of Jharkhand’s IAS. Now the number of authorized IAS cadre in the Jharkhand government has increased to 224. Earlier it was 215, the Personnel Ministry had held talks with the Jharkhand government in this matter last month. After which the decision was taken on this.

The Central Government has increased the authorized sanctioned strength of the IAS cadre of Jharkhand from 215 to 224. There is an increase of nine more posts as compared to the previous number. Now the total number of senior posts will be 122, central deputation will be 48, state deputation will be 30, training reserve will be four, while leave will be reserved and junior post will be 20. The posts to be filled by promotion under Rule 8 of the Indian Administrative Service (Recruitment) Rules 1954 are 68, while the posts to be filled by direct recruitment are 156. With this new move, the Indian Administrative Service (Determination of Cadre Strength) Regulations 1955 has been amended, the total authorized strength of the Jharkhand IAS cadre was 215 earlier.

The Ministry of Personnel had consulted with the Government of Jharkhand

The Personnel Ministry last month held talks with and consulted the Jharkhand government. After which the decision was taken. After the decision, it was announced by notifying the Gazette from January 1, 2022. In the Indian Administrative Service (Determination of Cadre Strength) Regulations, 1955, senior duty positions in the Government of Jharkhand include a Chief Secretary to the Government. Also a Development Commissioner, a member of the Board of Revenue, a Director General, Sri Krishna Institute of Public Administration. There are six principal secretaries, one principal secretary to the governor, one principal secretary to the chief minister, one chief election officer, one principal secretary agriculture, five divisional commissioners and 22 secretaries to the government in senior duty positions.

The cadre also includes various senior duty posts.

Apart from this, there are also 22 Special Additional, Joint, Deputy Secretary in other duty posts in the Government of Jharkhand. Out of which one Tribal Welfare Commissioner, one Director Industries, one IG Prisons, one IG Registration, one State Transport Commissioner, one Labor Commissioner, one Registrar, Co-operative Societies, 24 District Magistrates, Collectors, DCs, ADCs and 10 Municipal Commissioners and Settlement Officers. DDC, Chief Executive Officer are also involved in senior duty positions.

There is also one post for director and commissioner.

Apart from this, one post each for the posts like Commissioner, Commercial Taxes is also included in the duty posts. These include Director of Panchayati Raj, Director of Municipal Administration, Director of Land Acquisition and Land Records, Mission Director of National Rural Health Mission, Director of Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Commissioner of MGNREGA, Administrator of Swan Rekha Multipurpose Project, Director of Primary Education, Secondary Director of Education, Director of Social Welfare, Director of Sports, Director of Tourism, Director of Agriculture, Vice President of RRDA, Director of SUDA, Municipal Commissioner of Ranchi Municipal Corporation and Mission Director of Jharkhand State Skill Mission Society.
