Veteran Kannada director K.V. Raju passed away

Bangalore: Veteran Kannada director, writer K.V. Raju died on Friday at his residence in Bengaluru. Raju directed ‘Indrajit’ starring Amitabh Bachchan, and Kajol and Jitendra in ‘Udhar Ki Zindagi’.

Raju has directed the superhit Kannada films ‘Yuddhakanda’, ‘Belly Modgalu’, ‘Indrajeet’, ‘Kadana’, ‘Belly Kalungara’ and the critically acclaimed ‘Hulia’. He also worked as a screenplay and dialogue writer for the recently released film ‘Satyam’.

Raju joined KV in 1982. Entered the film industry as an associate director of Raju made his debut as a director and writer in 1984 with the film ‘Olev Baduku’.

Raju became a sensation in the Kannada film industry by delivering blockbusters in the 80s and 90s. He worked mostly with all Kannada superstars. He made his debut in the Hindi film industry with his film ‘Indrajit’ starring Amitabh Bachchan and Jaya Prada.
