In 1983, Indian stalwarts created history by winning the Cricket World Cup. Now director Kabir Khan has neatly brought this story on the screen. Ranveer Singh’s look in the character of Kapil Dev is being appreciated everywhere. The film has also been given a very good response by both the critics and the audience. But … the 83 which was expected to hit fours and sixes at the box office, did not happen. The spread of Omicron, the simultaneous release of Hollywood and South films, everything seemed to be weighing on 83. Let’s know the five reasons due to which 83 commercial hits could not prove to be.
First of all let’s look at the box office collection figures of the first week of 83. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh presented the BO of the film, according to which there has been a huge drop in the earnings of 83. On Friday, the film opened with 12.64 crores. After this, there was a collection of 16.95 crores on Saturday and 17.41 crores on Sunday. Then on the fourth day on Monday, there was a difference of 10 crores in this box office figure of the film. 83 has collected 7.29 crores on the fourth day. The film has made a collection of half century by earning 54.29 crores in four days.

The five main reasons for this are something like this. First movie songs. There are many songs in the film which have taken an ocean of passion, but none of them could touch the heart of the audience. Rather, even when ‘Lehra Do’ was released before the release of the film, it did not get a good response from the people. And as songs are the lifeblood of Bollywood movies, this one mistake of 83 did not pull people to the theatre.
Fear of Omicron, havoc of Hollywood-Tollywood
The second one is Omicron which is very important. Right now the fear of Corona was not in the minds of the people that the panic of Omicron has spread. This is also one of the reasons why people do not want to take risks by going to the theatre. The third reason is the biggest, that is the release of Hollywood and South films. Hollywood Movie Spider-Man No Way Home and South Movie Pushpa released a week before 83. Such an intoxication of these two films on the people that people forgot 83. Both these films left 83 far behind at the box office and the same continues.

Exactly Bollywood has lost its charm..they only make remake and biopic..who will go to watch documentary movie 83 to watch in theaters

Movie is all about cricket so if someone does not like cricket they will not go for this. Also ticket price is too high .

Apart from Ranveer, it is not the matter in the makeup of the rest of the actors.
No one can yak on Ranveer Singh’s makeup in the film. He looks exactly like Kapil Dev, but the second cast of the film did not work so hard. Cricket lovers felt this thing and the audience also paid attention to it. Talking about the fifth reason, the public’s opinion comes in this. There are many people who are calling 83 a flop due to different reasons.
Public blames Deepika for 83’s flop
One user wrote- ‘The movie failed because Deepika Padukone did not go to JNU or Afghanistan to promote the film. Kabir Khan should have also added a scene in the film to show how Mughals started cricket on this island. Another user has blamed Deepika for the film’s flop. Wrote- ‘Loved Ranveer Singh, but did not watch the film because Deepika did a poor stunt with #antinationals. Shame on her.’

The public has given a list of many reasons in declaring this film a flop. Some have told Deepika and some have told the cricket subject as the reason for the film’s failure. Well, commercially not right, but almost all critics have described 83 as the best movie.
