Hyundai Venue has overtaken the Kia Sonet. Hyundai sold 10360 units of the Venue SUV in India in December 2021. In comparison, Kia was able to sell only 3578 Sonet units in India last month. This information has been given in the latest data of SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers).
Hyundai Venue beats Kia Sonet
As per the data shared by SIAM (Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers), Hyundai sold 6,782 more units of the Venue than the Sonet. This big difference in the sales of Venue and Sonnet in the month of December could be due to production issues faced by Kia and discounts offered by Hyundai on its car.
However, the December 2021 sales results make it clear that the Hyundai Venue is still a popular subcompact SUV in India. This is also evident from the fact that the South Korean carmaker has sold over 2.5 lakh units of the Venue in India since 2019. Hyundai Venue was launched in India in May 2019 and managed to reach 50,000 sales in the first six months, while it reached 1 lakh by June 2020. Following which in December 2021, Hyundai reported that it had over 2.5 lakh customers of the Hyundai Venue in India.
