- Switch to automatic petrol in case of gas leak
- Will not start when fuel lid is open
- There will be 4 trims of Tiago and 2 trims of Tigor
Tata Motors launched its CNG cars on Wednesday. The company has introduced its Tiago and Tigor models with iCNG technology. After this, Tata’s battle will be with Maruti and Hyundai in the CNG car segment.
Best In Class Power CNG Cars
Tata Motors claims that their CNG cars come with best in class power. The company has developed it on its 1.2 liter Revotron engine. It generates max power of 73PS. On the other hand, the ground clearance of the Tigao iCNG is 168mm and that of the Tigor iCNG is 165mm, which gives a better ride, as well as a good drive experience on hilly and bumpy roads.
Detects gas leaks
Tata Motors has given extra safety features in its CNG cars. In case there is any leakage of CNG in the vehicle, then the leak detection technology in it automatically shifts the vehicle from CNG to petrol mode. This technology also alerts the driver about gas leaks. A micro switch has been provided for instant shutdown of the vehicle. Apart from this, this vehicle does not start with the fuel lid open.
Not only this, if there is any incident of thermal accident in the car, it shuts off the CNG supply to avoid cylinder burst. At the same time, the remaining gas in the tube is released into the air.
so is the price
The company has launched the Tigao iCNG in 4 trims. Its price starts from Rs 6.09 lakh and goes up to Rs 7.52 lakh. On the other hand, the Tigor iCNG has been offered in two trims. Its price ranges from Rs 7.69 lakh to Rs 8.29 lakh.
Currently, the factory fitted CNG car is dominated by Maruti Suzuki and Hyundai Motors in the Indian market. Now Tata’s CNG cars will give them a tough challenge. Maruti offers factory fitted CNG kits in S-Presso, Celerio, WagonR, Eeco, Alto and Ertiga. While Hyundai’s Hyundai Grand i10 and Hyundai Aura come with options.
