Skoda Auto on Monday launched the facelift of its flagship SUV Kodiaq in the Indian market. As soon as it is launched, this car is a direct and tough competition in the Indian market from the best cars like Volkswagen Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross and Hyundai Tucson. Today in this news we are going to compare this car with its major rivals: Volkswagen Tiguan, Citroen C5 Aircross and Hyundai Tucson.


Talking about the variants, the Skoda Kodiaq is available in three trims, which include Style, Sportline, and Laurin & Clement variants. The Hyundai Tucson and Citroen C5 Aircross come in two trim lines. Apart from this, Volkswagen is offering the Tiguan in a single, full-loaded trim.


The Kodiaq is the most expensive one in the lot, and is priced between Rs 34.99 Lakh to Rs 37.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). The C5 Aircross price ranges between Rs 32.24 Lakh to Rs 33.78 Lakh (ex-showroom). The Tiguan price starts at Rs 31.99 Lakh (ex-showroom). Hyundai Tucson is the cheapest at Rs 22.69 Lakh to Rs 27.47 Lakh (ex-showroom).

who is the tallest?

The Kodiaq is the only SUV in the group which is a 7-seater. The Tuscan, C5 Aircross and Tiguan are around 4.5 meters in length while the Kodiaq is 4.7 meters in length.

Kodiak- Its length is 4697 mm, width is 1681 mm and height is 1882 mm.

Tiguan – Its length is 4,509 mm, width is 1,839 mm and height is 1,665 mm.

C5 Aircross- Its length is 4,500 mm, width is 1,969 mm and height is 1,710 mm.

Hyundai Tucson- Its length is 4,480 mm, width is 1,850 mm and height is 1,660 mm.

How much power is there in whose engine?

Volkswagen Tiguan and Skoda Kodiaq share similar engine and transmission options. Both are powered by a 2-litre TSI petrol engine that is capable of producing 190 bhp power and 320 Nm of peak torque. Coming to its transmission, the car is powered by a 7-speed DSG, which sends power to the all-wheel-drive.

Coming to the engine of the Hyundai Tucson, it is offered with 2-litre petrol and 2-litre diesel engine options. Talking about its petrol engine, it produces 150 Bhp power and 192 Nm peak torque. At the same time, the diesel engine generates 182 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque. Both the engines are mated to an automatic transmission. The Tucson is a front-wheel-drive SUV, but the diesel offers the option of top-trim all-wheel-drive.

The Citroen C5 Aircross is the only SUV here that comes with a diesel powertrain. The 2-litre diesel engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission produces 174 horsepower and 400 Nm of peak torque.
