New Delhi. French carmaker Renault has increased the price of two of its best-selling models in India. Renault has increased the prices of the Kiger sub-compact SUV and Triber MPV this month. After this both these cars have become expensive by about 30 thousand rupees. The Renault Kiger was considered to be the most affordable sub-compact SUV in the country till now, but it lost its crown after the price hike. Now the Nissan Magnite is at the forefront of this category.
As per Renault’s official website, the price of the Kiger sub-compact SUV now starts at Rs. 5.79 lakh (ex-showroom) for its entry-level RXE manual variant. The base variant of the Kiger was earlier priced at Rs 5.64 lakh (ex-showroom). Which has now become expensive by about Rs 15,000.

Magnite becomes the cheapest sub-compact SUV
Renault launched the Kieger SUV in India in February last year. It was priced at ₹ 5.45 lakh (ex-showroom) then, making it the most affordable sub-compact SUV in the market. However, after the increase in price, the Nissan Magnite has become the most affordable sub-compact SUV with a starting price of Rs. 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom).

RXT EASY-R variant becomes most expensive
The maximum increase of Rs 29,000 has been made on the 1.0-litre RXT EASY-R automatic dual tone variant of Kiger. Now its price is Rs 8.01 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The prices of almost all the variants of the Kiger subcompact SUV have been hiked. The lowest price hike has been Rs 10,960 on the 1.0-litre RXZ X-tronic Turbo with CVT variant, which now costs Rs 9.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).

Triber became costlier by 30 thousand
Talk about the Triber MPV, which got a four-star rating in the Global NCAP crash test last year. It is considered to be one of the safest 7-seater model in India. Its price has increased a lot. The Triber has gone up by around Rs 30,000 on some variants. The base variant of the Triber MPV, the RXE trim, has received the least increase among all the variants. After revising the prices to Rs. 5.69 lakhs (ex-showroom, Delhi), it is now costlier by Rs. 5.50 lakhs.
