Every car will have 6 airbags
Road Transport and Highways Minister (MoRTH) Nitin Gadkari tweeted that he has approved the draft notification to make 6 airbags mandatory in cars. This will ensure passenger safety in all segments of the car. The price and variant of the car will have nothing to do with it.

common man’s car will become safe
Gadkari said that this decision has been taken for the M1 category of cars. The M1 category includes 5 to 8-seater cars. In this way, now 6 airbags will be mandatory in all mid-range cars as well. After this new decision, two side air bags and two side curtains will also be installed in the car, which will also ensure the safety of the passengers sitting behind in the car.

The government had earlier made airbags mandatory for the driver’s seat, this year from January 1, 2022, two airbags have been made mandatory in all cars for the safety of the driver as well as the co-passenger.

Cars can be so expensive…
After this decision of the government, the cost of car companies will definitely increase. The cost of an airbag ranges from Rs.1800 to Rs.2000. In such a situation, the total cost of installing 6 airbags can come between Rs 10 to 12 thousand. However, the government estimates that with the increase in demand for airbags, its cost will come down.

India is one of the top countries in the world in terms of people who lost their lives in road accidents. Nitin Gadkari has been saying from different forums to reduce it. This move of the government can be seen by connecting it to this.
