New Delhi. Range concern in Electric Vehicles (EVs) is a major concern among automobile buyers. Especially in India where the charging infrastructure has not yet expanded much. Apart from this, the cost of buying an EV is much higher than that of a petrol-diesel vehicle. This is the biggest reason that even now the electric vehicle is out of the budget of most of the customers of the country.
However, EVs have the advantage of lower operating costs as compared to their petrol and diesel vehicles. As a result of this, the demand for electric vehicles has increased significantly in the last 1-2 years. The Nexon EV is one of the best selling electric cars in the passenger car segment in India. Despite this, the range of this electric SUV is its major drawback. According to the company’s claim, the Nexon EV gives a range of 312 km on a single charge. But its actual range is around 180-200 km. This may be very less for the consumers who often travel long distances in the car.
